I am a 54-year-old professional woman who has been living with chronic back pain for almost 5 years. It has put my life on hold in so many ways. In essence, I feel like I have been put on the shelf, just waiting for something, some treatment, an intervention, a solution to relieve me of this pain so that I can get back to living a full and productive life. I have already tried so many treatments both conservative and invasive: physical therapy, massage, acupuncture, surgery, injections, radio frequency ablation, medication, and more. I will discuss in my blog what has helped and what hasn’t. However, this is mainly intended to be a journal of my efforts to get back into life as much as possible even while in continuous moderate to severe back pain. I cannot allow pain to put me on the shelf indefinitely. I am not using my name in the blog because I choose to keep my blog and my professional life separate. I hope you can understand that.  This privacy helps keep my writing truthful and from the heart.

I can be contacted at selfontheshelfblogger@gmail.com
